Trends in Digital Health: ViVE 2024 takeaways

Los Angeles proved to be busy and we at Lincata say thank you for the great conversations, quick check-ins, and incredible subject matter exchanges during ViVE. Exploring the content, we surveyed that three critical trends create challenges and opportunities in healthcare today:

1.)   Nursing workforce challenges remain.

Nursing staff recruitment and retention remain a top challenge for health systems.  Solutions which can help relieve nurse burden and burnout are highly valuable.  Lincata concierge services can direct common patient service requests to other support members for completion. In addition, the Lincata Education feature provides diagnosis specific articles and videos to help the patient learn independently about their condition and treatment.

2.)  Hospital finances appear to be rebounding slightly.

Conversations at the exhibit hall indicate many health systems are seeing inpatient and outpatient visits and revenue rising year over year.  Supply chain, labor costs, and other inflationary pressures continue to compress margins and lead to cautious optimism.  Lincata connects health system marketing content and vertical services with the in-room patient to build loyalty and engagement to help our health systems win in their competitive markets.

3.)  It is imperative for technology providers to be open and integrate into a broader digital strategy.

Health systems have invested in many tools to create their digital front door and overall digital strategy.  New solutions entering the existing ecosystem must be open and complimentary to larger strategic goals.  Lincata leverages numerous integrations with existing customers including major EHR vendors, education providers, dietary systems and more.  A key benefit of Lincata is driving activation, registration and engagement into the health system patient portal and/or mobile application to retain the connection to the patient when they leave the hospital.
